Ode 1647 9-Light Pendant

Masterful in its concept, the fluted profile of the Ode 1657 9-Light pendant successfully pays homage to ornate 17th-century chandeliers with the use of the most surprising material. Jacco Maris gave himself the challenge of creating the arcing form from high-pressure hose used in hydraulic systems controlling elevator shafts and in the engines of high-performance racecars. Fitted with velvet shades, the pendant comes in copper, black, and gold.

He also spent some time at the Design Academy Eindhoven, a school that nurtures the talents of many of the country’s biggest design stars. In 1994, he launched his own firm, beginning with window displays and then moving into interior design.
